"Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel for the Conversion of Abortionists

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."

    "Michael the Archangel"

    Saints are people, not angels.

    Nor do people become angels.

    Very strange.

The title "Saint Michael the Archangel" has a lot of history behind it and not just in Christianity. Goes back a long ways. Google it, you will see what I mean.

Just another threat for all of those in government who do not show up for his arrival in Selma.

Nope, this really is an anti-abortion thread. That's what the website that created the image is all about, praying to Saint Michael the Arch Angel to change the mind of pro-choicer's.

Well, a little investigation shows the problem arising from the translation of the Greek term hagios, meaning holy, into two terms, one an adjective and the other a noun.

Holy Michael (!) I can understand.

No one is ever instructed to pray to angels, however, in the protestant (reformed) church.

I imagine these folks would be most grateful to receive your research:

Um, I was just following the trail of bread crumbs and found the translation is all.

Would it help if it were in a "Satirical Green" color?

A bit of help for the ecumenically challenged ones among us:

    prayer
    (pr#603;#601;)
    n
    1. (Ecclesiastical Terms)
    a. a personal communication or petition addressed to a deity, esp in the form of supplication, adoration, praise, contrition, or thanksgiving
    b. any other form of spiritual communion with a deity
    2. (Ecclesiastical Terms) a similar personal communication that does not involve adoration, addressed to beings venerated as being closely associated with a deity, such as angels or saints.
    3. (Ecclesiastical Terms) the practice of praying: prayer is our solution to human problems.
    4. (Ecclesiastical Terms) (often plural) a form of devotion, either public or private, spent mainly or wholly praying: morning prayers.
    5. (Ecclesiastical Terms) (capital when part of a recognized name) a form of words used in praying: the Lord's Prayer.
    6. an object or benefit prayed for
    7. an earnest request, petition, or entreaty
    8. (Law) law a request contained in a petition to a court for the relief sought by the petitioner
    9. a chance or hope: she doesn't have a prayer of getting married.
[C13 preiere, from Old French, from Medieval Latin prec#257;ria, from Latin prec#257;rius obtained by begging, from prex prayer]

Still waiting for the good part of the news.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I agree with you on the point of your post Woody.

There were a lot of different ideology incorporated into the founding of this nation. Some of them came from Christians but a lot of them also came from others. For example George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were not Christians.

Getting old. Took me a few minutes to determine what was going on.

Personally, I NEVER copy a link to a photo. Down load, maybe edit and up load to my hosting site.
