Jap??.. GM's plant in S. Korea. They have already sold diesel cruzes in Australia since 2011. Time to come to America

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze CDX's brand-new turbodiesel engine is sourced from GM's specialist diesel engine manufacturing plant in Gunsan, South Korea. The inline four-cylinder DOHC engine features an electronically controlled turbocharger and a high-pressure common-rail system. Compared to the VM Motori-built engine, the GM diesel is quieter, with lower emissions and better fuel economy. As if that wasn't enough, it also delivers 9 percent more power (161 hp at 3,800 rpm) and 12.5 percent more torque (265 lb-ft at 1,750 rpm).

Korean or Jap either way, they build it in the US. In case they hadn't noticed, we could use the jobs.

I drove a GM diesel car last week. It seemed to drive ok, still louder then a gasoline vehicle if you mind those things.

Lordstown Ohio plant seems to be just an assembly facility. I was stating that GM should build that new Korean diesel engine in the United States. We need the jobs here. Let Kia build cars in Korea.

What? Maybe the folks can get jobs at toyote plants here in the U.S.A. or just eat beans. I don't feel remorse anymore for all the foreign car buyers who live here... Sooner or later GM will just pull the plug on America just for importing. Won't be long.

It'll be overpriced as hell. Little diesels always seem to be.

Can you imagine how well a Jeep diesel would sell for? They had a sweet one in the Liberty and the Limited but only for a few years.

How about a little Sidekick sized 2 door canvas top SUV?
