Is this really a Problem. Know when I did let mine roam I used to keep them in at this time of year. I had 3 now down to 1 Black cat.
quote:In the lead-up to Halloween, some cat rescue groups have placed a moratorium on releasing black kitties into the bewildering wilds of humanity over fears for their safety. People "do horrible things to cats, especially black cats, this month; I mean ritual torture and killing," claimed Lynda Garibaldi of Cat's Cradle, N.C., in a press release. Margaret Baker, of The Animal Orphanage, in Old Town, Maine, concurs. "People use them for sacrificing," she said. The Humane Society disagrees, saying there's no evidence of feline sacrifice and that talking to potential adopters to gauge their suitability is sufficient. So if you are set on adopting a black cat before October 31, be sure and hide those cloven hoofs and pentagram tattoos

Probably a lot of urban legend to this, but why take chances?
I had a reflective color on her, but she still got flattened by a car.
Her replacement was a useless klutz. He never caught a mouse that I know of, the only thing he ever caught was baby birds in the nest. He'd regularly fall out of trees, on his back. Or go to jump onto something and miss. While entertaining in a sick sort of way, he was basically useless.
We periodically have people come through and collect Cats for the Bio Lab at the University. The University used to buy them, no questions asked. So many people complained they stopped that, or they say they stopped it. You'd see a rash of lost Cat posters around, then a few months later another rash of posters being put up. The Cat rustlers would keep on the move so they wouldn't get caught.
The best 1 1/2 inchers going!!! [^][:D]
