My wife woke up tues at 1am with extreme pain in her back on the right side. It floored her and she then started throwing up.
I told her I thought she might have a kidney stone. Took her to the hospital when she could get the strength to move.
The Dr said she had a huge stone under the right kidney, the biggest he has seen. He said it was about 3/4".
An infection was running in her kidney and got into her blood lowering her BP very low. She was put in Intensive care yesterday AM and removed to a regular room today PM. She is on the rebound. I just got home from 10 hrs at the hosp.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

The Dr said today they may be able to pulverize it with sound waves so it can pass out on its own. If not, they will have to go in. They did put a tube directly into her rt kidney to allow it to drain.
She is resting comfortably and in good spirits as usual.
Your wife will be in our prayers. Hope everything goes well. Are they going to have to cut her open or can they just do laser surgery to take care of it?

Thanks Jon........ If the sound treatment doesnt work, they might be able to orthoscope it.
God bless,
Danny
Prayers sent for a speedy recovery.

Best wishes for a quick and painless recovery.
She must be a tough lady, glad she is doing better![^]
Keep us posted.
My grandma had one that was 2" It was so big it didn't show up on the X-ray, they thought it was just the kidney itself. She has it in a jar on her dresser. [xx(]

Hope to get her home in a couple days, but she will have a pic-line in her arm for IV antibiotics for a week or two.
Thanks to all, Joe
Hi friends...... Spent about 10 hrs at hospital today. She's resting and is slowly improving.

That's good news, Joe. I went through the lithotripsy treatment twice in a month, the first time the big stone was broken up and clogged up the stent. After the second time I was passing sand. It worked.
I'll remember Teresa in our prayers.
