Hey what did you ever decide about the 357 mag load for defense?

    Hey Dave,

    I bought some Remington 125 grain Golden Sabers for a defensive load. I'm hand loading Hornady 158 grain XTP's for practice...same bullet I was loading 10+ years ago for it. I still haven't gotten around to shooting the wife's Ruger yet. I'll post a range report once I do.

    I love the XTP's, I shot a doe with my 41 mag 210gr. She was looking at me and I aimed for the soft spot just at the base of the throat. The bullet was recovered in the left hip socket and looked like a text book mushroom. The doe dropped like hit with lightning.

    I have some Golden Saber but have yet to test them for expansion and penetration.
