Meatloaf Sandwiches,

I made a very nice Meatloaf last night.

I've been jonesing for one, for a while now.

Started it late, was not done till apprx. 8:45 pm.

Consequently only ate a little. (Very good.)

I'm about to make a nice serving up here in a minute. (Not a sandwich.) The deluxe version, with all the sides.

My question is how do you guys like/prepare your Meatloaf sandwiches?

I've got some nice fresh Italian baguettes. Do you melt some fresh deli Provalone on them? Mayonnaise on the bread? Salt/pepper? That is pretty much what I've been thinking.

What is yours?

How do you like to prepare your Meatloaf sandwich?

I've got enough for quite a few work lunches, which was the reason for making a large loaf to begin with.

Creativity is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

True meatloaf sammich needs only catsup and black pepper! Oh sure, you can toss some Hellman's mayo on there for good measure.

Cheese??? No way, Jose!! Not only "No", but "Hell NO!"

    [;)]

You probably eat it on White bread to, don't you?

Maybe if I poured some Con Queso cheese sauce over it? [:0][}:)]

I do mostly, now that you mention it! Regular ol' white bread. Not even toasted neither!

Now the Con Queso sauce, in this instance, just might actually have some potential!!! Mix in a little hot Rotel, and you might be onto something! (substitute it for the mayo...yup, I think this would work!)

    I know, right?

I posted this in jest per your, "got wrapped around the axle," reply to an earlier thread on cooking.

As soon as I typed, "and pour some Con Queso cheese over it,"

I was like, wait a minute, that sounds pretty freakin' good. [:D]

Some one needs to write this stuff down for you guys. You use whatever bread you want. My choice is Oatmeal. You will need mayo or Miracle Whip and ketchup is fine but you never put cheese on a meatloaf sandwich. If you put cheese on a meatloaf sandwich you would have a pizza sandwich. DUH!!

The way I've always enjoyed it is simply on bread (whole wheat, sourdough, or a hoagie bun) and slathered with Heinz 57 Steak Sauce. A dill pickle on the side is all it needs.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

"Lettuce and Tomato," on a Meatloaf sandwich? [:0]

What are you, from NC, or something? [:D]

(Sorry Ricci.) I do not really consider Wilmington to be NC anyway.

I grow some damn tasty maters and I put them on just about every sandwich I make except PBJ's.

Lettuce gives it a crunch and I like my ML Sandwich with cold meatloaf.

I live in NC but I am from all over[;)]

    Buttered bread? Umn, ...........No.

(Now toasted Garlic bread? That will work.) Thanks.

Will short hot peppers work in a pinch?

    84B,

And if you really want to get fancy, add equal parts ground veal and ground pork into your meatloaf. That, and use Italian bread crumbs.

Now we're gettin' into real meatloaf territory!

So, 1/2 ground beef, 1/2 ground veal, and 1/2 ground pork? [;)][:D]

Thick slices of Pumpernickel, buttered and grilled, or toasted and buttered if you can't.

    Nice seedy mustard.

Just out of the microwave Sauerkraut.

    Thousand Island.

    Meatloaf.

    Jarlsberg or Aged Swiss.
