He's been missing for four days.[:(!] I can't get past being suspicious of the family....
DUBLIN - As the search for five-year-old Noah Thomas closed on day four, investigators say progress has been "extremely frustrating" with very few leads that point to what could have happened to him.
It was initially reported that Noah was last seen between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. However, at a news conference on Wednesday, Assistant Pulaski County Administrator Anthony Akers clarified that Noah was actually last seen by his mother at 7 a.m. watching cartoons. His mother then went and took a nap, and woke up around 10:35 a.m. and noticed Noah was missing.
Akers said his mother did a search of the residence then immediately called 911, and the search began shortly after 11 a.m. That 911 call is not being released at this time since it is still a part of the investigation.
According to Akers, the parents, Paul Raymond Thomas, 32, and Ashley Jennifer White, 31, have been "extremely cooperative and very distraught" and are not ready to speak with the media yet.
While the parent's movements are not being restricted, they are being monitored, Akers said. It is unclear at this time whether the family has hired a lawyer, but Akers speculated that they had been read their Miranda rights as part of the questioning process.
"Naturally in an investigation, you're going to monitor the parents. That's a natural part of the investigation," Akers said. "We still 100 percent believe that Noah is alive."
Later Wednesday Akers clarified some comments he made during the news conference: The parents are "in no way being considered suspects," he said; and Akers also said that the parents are being assisted and helped in any way they need during this tough time. Additionally, investigators and crews are not able to speculate on Noah's current condition but continue to do everything in their power to find him and bring him home safely.
While the search continues, the idea that Noah could have been abducted continues to be on the forefront of many people's minds. However as of Wednesday evening, there is still no substantial information to confirm that.
"There is no evidence of him being picked up. You can deduce that at this time, but that's why this investigation continues to be extremely, extremely frustrating," Akers said.
When asked on Tuesday whether search warrants had been filed, an assistant clerk in the Pulaski County Circuit Court said "everything in that case is sealed."
The FBI - specifically the violent crimes against children unit - has been on scene since Sunday, as well as the Virginia State Police, state Department of Emergency Management and several other local and state agencies.
The rumor mill has been active via social media since Noah went missing with people posting false information, but Akers strongly cautioned the public from believing what is being said.
"For people who are posting fabricated stories online: I think it's sad that you have folks putting up stories about a missing five-year-old boy in our community that everybody wants home. It's extremely sad and sickening for people to put on social media things that they've said they heard that are fabricated," Akers said.
Noah is in kindergarten at Riverlawn Elementary School. He is described as 3#8201;? feet tall, 60 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. He is thought to have been wearing a camouflage jacket, a Chargers Starter jersey with the number 21 on it, black and yellow pants, and Spider-Man rain boots.
While citizen volunteers weren't turned away Wednesday, Akers said that the search would be "more methodical" with more trained professionals throughout the day. Additionally, crews searched the landfill which is located northwest of the Thomas residence on Route 100 near Giles County.
"On foot, it would be quite a good distance and very hilly," Akers said. "But the searches there are not because there are any leads for the landfill. It's naturally a place to search."
The weather played somewhat of a factor Wednesday as rain showers moved into the area but bloodhounds, search crews and additional resources were used to the utmost extent that they could be.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office at (540) 980-7800.
A vigil, sponsored by Help Save the Next Girl, is planned for Sunday at Riverlawn Rlementary at 7 p.m.
Both parents have been charged with two counts of felony child neglect each, which is probably just to hold them in jail until the final autopsy results are done. I imagine they will be charged with his death in the next few weeks.

Even if it as simple as he walked off and got lost or hurt he is somewhere terrified and hoping someone will come help him. If he is dead, what did he go through before dying, weather lost of murdered. Or is he somewhere being abused and living through hell right now.
Even though I do not know him my emotions take a dive just thinking about what he did or is experiencing.
Every house I have ever lived in the only way into the septic tank was through the toilet or to dig it up.... Are there ones with an exposed manway or something?
The top of mine is exposed, but it has a lid that is 275lb and it is glued down with sealer, so it wont leak.
Sad way for this to end.

Same here Capt,...you don't just fall into a septic tank. Poor kid.[V]

My septic tank is buried about 24" below ground. I have to dig out the lid. The lid is approx. 30" by 24" of 6" concrete and takes two guys to lift with steel bar.
I certainly find it hard to believe that a child could lift a septic tank lid, fall in and the cover fall back into place without someone noticing it as the 100s of people walked through that yard. Even if it weren't covered properly. even if it were improperly covered you'd think someone would have noticed that.
That being said, if it took them that long to take a look at the septic tank I'm guessing it wasn't that easy to access. As in it wasn't an obvious danger point.
Kids do things that get them in trouble and falling head first into holes, buckets, barrels etc. is one of them. If it was an accident I hope they prove it and if it was foul play I hope they prove that too.
Had a kid die the same way around here a few years back.[V]
plenty of people fall into old septic tanks which have been abandoned and rotted to the point that one day someone simply falls through the top of it. When they are deemed no longer useable/serviceable, they simply install a new one elsewhere in the yard. the old one eventually becomes a crumbling cistern just waiting to cave in.

My intel is this was no accident, he was placed there, in a garbage bag.
