We are expecting a "snow event" today. I been watching the radar on my computer and it looks like the snow is just about to reach me.

it started snowing an hour ago and there is little more than a trace so far. the forcast calls for precip from now til like next thursday whether it is snow or rain depends on how quickly the warm front takes over. right now it's 23 degrees

Gig Harbor Missed a lot of snow yesterday, but Last Night till today it has snowed nearly 10 inches. Had to go out to the Greenhouse @0400, and swept off all I could reach, and turned the heater up to full blast. Looks like the snow is now sloooooowly slipping off. When I got to the Snow earlier, the roof was getting real springy - if I had waited till dawn, I think it would have collapsed!

Complete white-outs whenever a tall tree dumps its load! Birds are absolutely MOBBING the Feeder. Nothing on the ground - they get it up Immediately!!

We got about three inches over the night in the Renton area, but now it is starting to come down pretty good.
    What's next?

the national news is claiming this is the worst storm in decades but local news isn't that concerned over it.
The last two years I have had 12-18 inches. in the winter of 96-97 we had a snow event that lasted 3 days and got 30 inches in the front yard.
this seems minor to me though it is starting to pick up pretty good now.

We get the Portland Or. Stations. they act like it's raining fire and are suggesting methods to cook your neighbors.

The Ice Storm we got back in 95? was pretty RAD! Tree limbs breaking off in the Darkness, lots of snapping and Big Thumps all around the House! Folks Cars were getting Harpooned by Twenty Foot Long Icesickles falling from the Bridge! We had no power at the Shack In The Trees for over a week, Right at Christmas/New Year's.

In 84? we had a storm where the temps got to 20 below. Digital Crane Electronics had no heaters, and the durn things were going NUTS! Relay Lights were going on and off, Brakes were sanpping open or closed with Noone in the Operator's Cab, Relays were chattering - You would think the Crane was alive and Shivering!!!

But, this is pretty big for the area. Living right next tot the Puget Sound usually Moderates the Cold and Snow to just a few Small Snowfalls maybe 4-6 inches maybe Three times a Year, with a few others just a skiff of snow, gone the next Day or Two.

I think I have over 10 Inches, and it is still Snowing, With Vigor!
Glad the Manse Roof is Metal Standing Rib, and that it it pitched at 45 Degrees! Even so, I'll bet it is holding more than a Few TONS of extra weight!

Actually, it's about 13 inches. The car is a Scion XB (kind of a box of a car), so it isn't as deep as it appears

This is what fun is all about, I got my ranch truck dug out and have been trying to remove downed limbs off my drive way.

Tomorrow I will start digging to the sliding doors under this snow so my horses can access their paddocks
