My two younger children are showing signs of having my horrible skin problems. Nothing ever worked for me......I have heard good things about Proactive, but have been putting off ordering it.

The girls eat like they are trying to prove something. My son is a candy hider.....I don't know how or where he gets it, but if you search is room or bookbag you will find ALL KINDS of wrappers. They don't like breakfast....maybe a bowl of cereal is the best you can hope for there. ALL of them love Ramen Noodles. My middle child is going through a Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup phase. I don't see the older one much these days....but she isn't the same as the other two. I am afraid they will be like me....and it will only get worse as time passes. With me, it is stress that does it more than anything. That....and the monthly female ordeal that drives my complexion completely haywire.

Take them to the dermatologist first.

My daughter uses it. It makes her skin burn. She used it for a week, and all it did was make her pimples flatter, but they didn't go away.

She has extremely sensitive skin, though. I have to wash her clothes in fragrance-free, color-free, non-concentrated detergent, or she breaks out in a rash.

She says the best thing she has used so far is Neutrogena Deep Clean * Cleanser.

I guess the reason I am not a sweet tooth, or a soda drinker is because I was not allowed to do it as a child.

Too bad,.....so sad for me I guess.
Candy, and soda was an "occasional" thing for me as a treat.
I presume by todays standards that makes my mother a female Hitler?

Didn't cause me any loss of fun, and I never had acne, plus at almost 48 I have ALL of my teeth. That includes my wisdom teeth.

I drink a 12 pack of Vernors ginger ale in a year roughly, and I will have some ice cream, or a chocolate bar maybe once a month.
    I also don't weigh 300 pounds,........worked for me.

My son is on the fitness team at the school....never lost a race in his life....played football every year (but one) since he was 6. The girls are teeny to the point that I worry, but all girls seem to look just about the same and I see them eating.....not much you can do about what they will and won't eat. I just try to convince them that what is good for you is actually GOOD....sometimes they fall for it.

nobody ever give me a hard time for being off topic in a gun forum again....
your posts remind me of a country song

We talk about your work how your boss is a jerk
We talk about your church and your head when it hurts
We talk about the troubles you've been having with your brother
About your daddy and your mother and your crazy ex-lover
We talk about your friends and the places that you've been
We talk about your skin and the dimples on your chin
The polish on your toes and the run in your hose
And God knows we're gonna talk about your clothes
You know talking about you makes me smile
    But every once in awhile

    I wanna talk about me
    Wanna talk about I
    Wanna talk about number one
    Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you you you you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about meeeeee (me,me,me,me-background singers)
I wanna talk about me (me,me-background singers)

We talk about your dreams and we talk about your schemes
your high school team and your moisturizer creme
We talk about your nanna up in Muncie, Indiana
We talk about your grandma down in Alabama
We talk about your guys of every shape and size
The ones that you despise and the ones you idolize
We talk about your heart, bout your brains and your smarts
And your medical charts and when you start
You know talking about you makes me grin
    But every now and then

One more verse made up by me

we talk about your daughter say morew than we autta bout her drivin and her wrecks but not about her sex
we talk about your gold and how youre getting poor
how your man won't work and where to put your store
we bid on your guns but never seem to win cuz the prices are so high I just can't see.eeee
I like talkin bout you you you usually but occaision al- leeee
    I wanna talk about meeeeeee

That comment was not aimed at you,.....just a general statement.
Some folks have bad skin when they are young regardless of what they eat.

I remember some of my friends in HS being called "pizza faces" per se.

If you have confidence in whatever product this is, then by all means give it a go.

Scott...you are a mess. I can almost hear you singin that....and lets just say the old sayin "don't quit your day job" comes to mind.

I have just about decided that acne is just about unavoidable....I just see that Proactive stuff in people's bathrooms and the commercials are always on TV....so I was wondering if anyone had any real luck with it. I can't imagine it is a magical cure to problem skin, but I wanted to know if there was a lot of unhappy results from people who have tried it BEFORE I spent any money on it.

My sister in law and nephew use it. After they visited, the light tan towels turned ORANGE.

I'd be very careful using that stuff

    LF,

Have they tried homemade lye soap?

You can buy the stuff now in stores, but folks used to make their own, and I reckon some of them still do.

One of my daughters used it ...it works but is expensive...it also must have some kind of peroxide in it because it will "bleach" a towel if not completely rinsed off....Go to the doctor first ..my 2 cents.

Tell the truth, fellas. The only reason you guys didn't drink much soda pop is because you had to work all day to make the nickel that a bottle of soda costs. Then, it was 8 miles to the nearest store (uphill), and you couldn't afford the coal oil for the lamp to walk home in the dark.[8D]

Tell the truth, fellas. The only reason you guys didn't drink much soda pop is because your Dad had to work all day to make the s]nickel that a bottle of soda costsHouse payment and support 3 of us kids. Then, it was 8 3.5 miles to the nearest store (uphill) Downhill and had to ride back on a two lane road uphill. you mom and dad couldn't afford the coal oil for the lamp to pay for junk food to walk home in the dark.[8D] when mom made meals at home.[:)]

Lets talk about canned tuna/albacore in our house as a kid. Does it come in a can from the store you bet .12 cents a can! My mom "Hell NO!
I AM NOT PAYING FOR THAT!" Off to Moss landing fishing docks and she gets 2- 50 pounder's off the boat fresh for 5 cents a pound brings it home and cans it all!

My Mom now (84) Is a very special and unique woman for her day. Chef class, Homemaker, hunter/fisherman/camper and former rifle instructor for the NRA. Her parents, My Grand parents- were the "Do it all on your own kinda folks". My grandparents were HS teachers in the 20's and 1930's.

My 16 yr old daughter got Proactive and her Dr put her on birth control pills. (No, not for any other reason).

Her skin cleared up to nearly perfect in 8 weeks.

She is a much happier girl now and I'm glad we could help her.

.....that would be funny. Son...listen here. These tiny pills are going to help your complexion, but don't tell your buddies what is going on here.

(kidding)....I understand that helps a lot of girls. Back when I was younger it didn't do much for my problems, but things are different with what they have available now.

He is pretty dang clever. Got the little part about Larry not working wrong....but the rest seems pretty fair-to-true for our little world.

I like the forums. Where else could me asking about an acne program for my kids end up people talking about survivalist living, over-dramatic serinading, wonderful moms, nazi moms.....and still leave me wondering if I should get the stuff?

Pro Active works, but it is expensive. Cutting out the sodas, peanut butter and chocolate will do wonders for the complexion and the wallet.

Yes. Another Vernors disciple. I got hooked on it over 30 years ago. It's always hard to find around here.

Mine was the same,....minus the hunting, fishing, and shooting.
She left that to my grandfather, and great-uncles.

I was taught how to do laundry, sew, iron, cook, and clean house pretty young.
When I was dating heavy years ago, the chicks would always think I had a live-in girlfriend, or was married when they came to my house for the first time.

Don't know how many times I heard "No way does a single guy live here by himself."

Kasey,.....sorry I can't offer advice on that stuff. Never used it, and don't know anybody that does.
Heck if Jessica Simpson pitches it, it must be good! Right?[:D]
