Here's a surprise... Mayor Daley of Chicago disagrees with the Heller decision and vows to defend Chicago's gun ban.

I hope he does, I can't wait for laws like this to be struck down.

I read it. The hypocrisy is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Mayor Daley states, "The Supreme Court and Congress have no obligation to keep our country safe. It falls on the backs of mayors and local officials." Well, if the crime rate in Chicago and Cook County are any indication of the protection provided by the mayor/local officials, It is my assessment that they are failing miserably, are failing to do their jobs, and should be terminated from their positions.

Whadda ya think of that, Mayor "F uckwad" Daley?

He's just setting up his latest "I can't do anything about crime" excuse. He'll blame SCOTUS.

He will blame Heller for his having to raise taxes. What a piece of work this bum is. Not hard to believe Barry Hussein Obama comes from his neck of the woods is it?

they have no obligation to, eh. looks like they are and it can be enforced, supported in courts. sounds more to me like a call to local gov'ts to reject the ruling.

first, oppression in the name of safety. now when that doesn't suit their purpose, rebellion in the name of safety.

the governments need to be swept out of people like that.

She also said when CC laws were passed that blood would be flowing down the streets, but so far the only thing going down is crime rates where CC has been passed.

Did you really expect anything different? The Libs will continue to fight for thier agenda. Just like ciggaretes were 1st banned on airplanes. Now banned in most public buildings and even outside area's of some places.
The 1st thing the Liberal mainstream media political analists said was that they were ENCOURAGED that the vote was so close!
Which translates to: "We'll be back when we get a Lib in the White House and a few more Libs on SCOTUS." Simply viewed as a minor setback caused by bad timing to them. They have lost very little.
This is far from a done deal.
And I think everyone should give the NRA a BIG pat on the back today. Like them or not, they are our principle voice in Washington and factor in hugely to this victory.

Good. Maybe he'll defy the court's ruling, they'll issue him an order, and then have him arrested if he continues.

The Daley legacy; more government, more corruption, more taxes, more police, more violent crime, free rubbers in schools and less freedom for the taxpaying citizen.

    BS

The NRA tried to wreck the D.C. case before it even reached the court of appeals.

    Thank Robert Levy.

That being said, the NRA has a unique opportunity to redeem itself, at least in my eyes.

No, what they need is a swift kick in the *. The NRA's representative, in his brief to the court, all but handed the government a carte blanche.

Cracks me up the "assigning" of whose responsibility it is to make the country safe!

Lets see,.......the ones with the most gun control have the highest crime rates.
We have been told that law enforcement is not there to protect us, and they have NO obligation to respond to an individual, other than to investigate and tag your toe!

When the politicos, do away with their armed "details", and live just like they want the "serfs" to,........I may listen to their garbage. NOT!!!!

It is each of our responsibilities to keep ourselves, and families safe. Put the criminals in prison,........keep them there, or put them to death if ordered. Not after 15 or 20 years.

Chicago does not have a good history,i.e.,.........massive political corruption under the same name.
Screw Daley, and challenge him to drop his security details if you live there! Why is his life more valuable than yours?[:(!]
