To paint or not to paint...

I have the sudden urge to paint my AR. I'm not looking to do a full high end Digital camo job.

When I pull my lower and upper apart. What should I tape and prep to keep paint out of. Obvously I don't want paint in the bolt area or in the trigger group.

Also, what tips can you give me for doing the gun in Kahki and brown with a little OD and Black? Which layers should I work up from?

Or should I just not even paint it at all? I don't know why I have the urge.

Never painted a gun cubs, but I painted cars for many years. I would think that you would want to start with the lightest color as a base. Then move darker & darker.

When is the last time the cubs & sox were in 1st place at the same time?

Dunno, the way it looks, the Cubs won't be in first much longer....

Personally I wouldn't paint a gun unless it was a "beater", and looked really bad.
Take that for what it's worth,.......zero![;)]
