The Socialization of America

I saw a political cartoon in yesterday's Chicago Tribune. Maybe your paper had the same thing. I hope not.

It showed four normal people walking shoulder to shoulder. There names were "PRESS", "SPEECH", "RELIGION" and "ASSEMBLY". The caption was "THE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE".

What an idiot put that in the paper. None of his has anything to do with Memorial Day and those that has sacrificed for this nation.

The same editorial page also had an editorial describing the bill coming before the State's Senate to limit the size of magazines to 10 rounds. They claimed there is a reasonably good chance the bill will pass and calling it "reasonable" control.

I just find it ironic. Sell out the second amendment and pat ourselves on the back for Memorial Day, as if the press has sacrificed for the country. No, ironic is the wrong word. It's sickening.

I look at what is going on and I'm almost in disbelief and very much disappointed. We've watched Putin reduce freedoms by closing down news organizations that disagree with him, even teen magazines. We've seen Hugo Chavez shut down all television stations that are critical of his policies. Now the "democrats" in Warshington what to bring back a new form of the "Fairness Doctrine". Just like Putin and Chavez, The socialists in Warshington what to use the power of the government to silence their critics. Does the First Amendment mean anything to them?

I used to more satire comments about these American Socialists despise the Second Amendment. The people's ability to own small arms is not the only part of the Constitution of the United States these people disagree with. Now that they are going after the First and Second Amendment, I wonder what other parts of the Constitution do these American Socialists wish to dismantle.

They have argued that the Constitution is a "Living and Breathing Document". This means to them that the Constitution can be manipulated however they wish. So what is next?

I used to joke that Mrs. Clinton and the democrats think Americans are not responsible enough to properly handle the First Amendment. I'm not laughing anymore. These self proclaimed "patriots" are perhaps one of the greatest threats to America's freedoms. I am starting to believe "The Fairness Doctrine" and HR 1022 are just the beginning to their desire to dismantle the First and Second Amendment.

Is it extreme to compare or unfair to compare Mrs. Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Baraak O'bama to the likes of Vladimir Putin and Hugo Chazev? No. It's time to call a spade a spade.

The first amendment, has been the reason that pornography in all forms, has been able to survive. The founders never meant it for that,.....it was meant to be able to disagree with the current government, without fear of being locked up. I don't care what anyone wants to look at, as long as kids are protected, but my point is, it was never intended for that purpose!
That is a perfect example of the "living, breathing" document scenario you mention.
Now that the Libs, have competition in the TV media, and are slammed night and day, on talk radio, and their pathetic cohorts, are impotent to get an audience to even begin to compete in that forum,.........they want to censor speech on the radio.
    Guess why?
They have a small audience, and no one wishes to listen to their garbage.
Yes, sir,.........you are correct! This nation is on the way to socialism. We are already part way there, with all of the government handouts, and re-distribution of wealth.
Guess we better get used to it![}:)]

If the new "Fairness Doctrine" were to actually happen, free radio will die a quick death. Boring as PBS and CSPAN. Satellite radio will become very popular since it won't be regulated by the federal government.

It serves its purpose for certain scenarios, as was just witnessed last week. Granted it was only a part, but some need guidance, and I have no issue with that,
Should just be free speech,.........like burning the flag, pornography, and the failed "Air America"HA![:D][8D]
