After seeing the PIC of KB guns here
I think IM lucky my 1911A1 SURVIVED i caught a KB
30years ago with some factory reloads felt like I just pulled the trigger on a full load 44mag.
of course the mag came out into my hand but the gun only got a nick in it above the firing pin. lucky there was only 1 round left in the mag when it went off.

The hot round set the one off in the mag. This is a PIC of the parts we found after the dust settled. still shoot this gun and have put a few thousand rounds out it.

The old 45 acp must be a well built gun.

this is when i decided to start reloading my own

I've personally witnessed more 1911 kb's than glocks, 1 blew up similar to yours, blew the grips out, cutting the guys hand

Hmmmmm, what are the odds that an almost 100 year old gun has had more failures with overloaded ammo that a 20 year old gun???

Guess math was not a big subject at school!!![8D]
Sorry, could not resist the obvious opening on that![8]
Open a door and someone will drive as big a truck through it as the size of the opening

why the insult on what i stated i was a personal witness too?, it did not imply otherwise, it did not state numbers, percentages or published facts

i see no open door in that personal statement, if i posted any other reference i could see it, but the fact that i have saw 3 1911 kbs, 1 glock did not state overall statistics

I never saw the point of hot loading the .45ACP. The SP Ball Ammo it was designed for puts em down fine IMO.

no one i know loads them hot, 2 where apparently a double charge, 1 was a squib during a match to one of my best friends, his adrenaline was pumping he thought he just had a miss-feed, before anyone could say anything he tap racked bang, turning his barrel into a case gauge

Another point on not right to compare a 1911 with a Glock.

Most Glock people shoot factory ammo.

Most 1911 I know load for them.

It seems like comparing Glocks to 1911s is like comparing F1 to NASCAR.

It just seems a little funny that any chance one gets a Glock guy has a my dog's bigger than your dog comment.

I do not see the same thing from H&K owners or Sig owners.

Not trying to pick on all Glock owners, just an observation.

This happens with new factory ammo in new guns also.

Blew up my Ruger Vaquero 44 mag with Winchester factory loads.

Winchester saaid they are not responsible for their ammo once delivered to the distributor.

    So sorry.

Probally due to the fact 1911 lovers always hack on Glock lovers. I used to hate Glocks with a passion also. My brother which loved them made me give one a honest chance. Now today my Glocks are the only gun I own that has not had some kind of problem. I own most major brands of pistols. My Glocks are the only ones that have went bang each and every time I've pulled the trigger.

I still enjoy shooting my Sig the most though, but for a workhorse gun that I have to put my life behind I carry my Glocks.
