According to the paper they are on the way.

I order about $50.00 worth this year.

My favorite is the caramel delights.[:)]

Coming in a close second, would be a tie between Thin Mints, and Peanut butter sandwich.

Did you support, your local girl scouts this year? What's your favorite?

We went to the grocery tonight and as we were leaving the girls had a table set up in the lobby selling their cookies. We bought a couple of boxes, one of which was called Lemonades. It's basically a shortbread cookie with a lemon glazing on the bottom. If you like lemon flavored shortbread cookies, these are pretty good. You don't get many for the $3, but hey it's for a good cause.[:D][:D]

And no, I am not a Girl Scout nor do I have any affiliation with them anymore. Other than my daughter was one years ago.

Open (and finished) another box tonight. I don't know if their program is any good but they sure have some great cookies!

In my garage right now there are 20 cases of cookies that I have to help sell, so my mind is wandering and I tell the wife: ya know
    instead of the

    20 cases X 12 boxes X $3.50/box (girlscout charge)= $840

    How about I get:
    20 cases X 12 boxes X $5.00/box= $1200

$360 to buy something on here.... mmm I mean as my handling fee?

I even let her in on my idea to stake out weight watchers meetings and sell them $7.00/box with the promise to keep it "on the down low"....

Would your wife have hit you? [B)]

They are my crack cocaine[:0][:D] Little girl knocked on our door selling "them" cookies. She was about 11 and had this huge bag, full of cookie boxes. I felt like I was buying my fix, from a dealer. How many boxes ya got???, 18 left. Okay, give them all to me[:0] I think I made her day. 16 boxes are going to work for the guys and 2 are staying here for Donna and the kids. No more junk food for me[V] I am in junk food rehab as we speak. I think the government ought to start regulating these damn things. They are too addictive. Oakie[:D]

I think from what I have read the Scouts get about 50 cents per box. I usually catch them at Walmart for a few thin mints. [8D]

Many years ago we had a dog named BARK. One day the doorbell rang and i was the one that answered it. When i opened the door there was a little Irish girl in a Girl Scout uniform with a arm load boxes of cookies. She started her speech. All of a sudden our dog named BARK ran between my legs and started barking at her. I started yelling BARK, BARK and she thought i was yelling at the dog to bark. She dropped all her cookies and ran to the curb where a women was in a car waiting for her. She jumped in the car and it sped off. A few minutes the dog was sniffing and pawing at the door. I peeked out the window and saw the little Irish girl picking up her cookies while keeping an eye on the front door. The end.

You're not a junk food junkie. You're suffering from Confectionery abuse disorder. [;)] [:D]

Good for you, Oakie. I have a rule at the house that whatever kid shows up selling candy, cookies, jerky, or ??? to raise money for their sports team, Boy/Girl Scouts, whatever...we buy $20 worth.

Last year I was pretty sure one GS troop had figured it out. I think 6 or 7 of the little cuties showed up. Since I am approximately 15 years ahead on my Cookie & Cake Quota, I walk around handing boxes to random people I meet.

Come to think of it, those little gals are about due to show up again. Better drop some cash in the flowerpot by the door. [^]

Burrys used to make GS cookies- they had a "broken" outlet in Elizabeth. Used to get big bags of the thin mints and others for the FD house cheap.
Burry's also made Scooter Pies-[ Moon Pie knockoff.]
Always a house favorite. I'd get a big bag of 'em
House captain on a diet- says "get them off the table"
OK-- we taped 100 of them from the ceiling at eye level.
When he came back he said "YOU &^%$#@er's" grabbed a few and blew the diet.

Haven't bought any in years. Usually not around when the girl scouts sell.

Only purchase the Thin Mints,, maybe the peanut butter.

Wonder if they're at the malls or grocery stores? or is it over?
