How much powder can a person legaly transport in a personal vehicle

    How many pounds? if so.. good question...Ive had 48lbs in mine before...hope I didnt break any laws[:D]

    It might depend on how much your carrying. Obviously you want to keep it in its original containers. The DOT (Department of transportation) might require placarding your vehicle if carrying large amounts. If your just transporting several pounds, keep it away from heat and have a nice trip.

    less than 25lbs smokeless ok in original containers...25lbs to 50lbs ok in original containers and sealed in a wooden box of at least 1" thickness...over 50lbs no go....and yes google is my friend[:D]

    In North Carolina if you buy more than a certain quantity you have to fill out a Transportation permit and carry it with you.

    I first thought you were exceeding the transportation limit on powder, and I wondered just what kind of party you had coming up.

    I bough 6 one hundred drums of 4831 In 1974 reclaimed Military surplus Drove them home in a 1974 dodge Colt one in passenger fron seat 3 side by side in rear seat and 2 in the trunk Drove them 90+ miles home. I was a pipe smoker at the time "BUT NOT ON THAT TRIP"[:p][:0]. I paid $55.00 a drum only have about 40 pounds left. [:)]
