Schwan's food delivery

Anyone get food from schwan's? I get a couple items from them every other week, and I was wondering if you are expected to tip the delivery guys. I usually give them something around the holidays, I do the same for USPS, and UPS guy, but I was wondering if you are supposed to tip the Schwan's guy regularly?

Good question I suppose it is optional but if he comes whenever you call....
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

The wife would always tip him $ 75.00.

Never understood why. The food was good, but..

for the price of their items a tip is over the top, even tho the stuff is good....i'd door to door for a $75 tip or a pretty gal...sounds like more fun than raisin porky pigs (the new party in power emblem) or secret war weapon against middle eastern types(it just be raining pork chops)

Swan'd drivers get commision on everything they sell.

I allways tipped a SMALL tip, when I used to buy from them.

the guy out here actually owns the route.
I never tip an owner. but I was tempted when he first started delivering.
this guy is great, he goes to the freezer in the "barn"( Its really an airplane hangar!) and puts the order away and leaves a note with the bill:
"youre running low on push-up pops...."
well, you know what i mean. can't beat the service and out here in the sticks theres some stuff you can't get anywhere else.

I used to be a schwans driver, about 10 years ago. Only got tips from my customers on special occasian/holidays. I made good money just on the commision. But if you want to start tipping with each order, maybe I will consider driving for schwans again. I will make it a point that you are on my route![:D][:D] There were times that we would get other types of tips, which I won't mention, but you can use your imagination.[:p][:D]

    I tip for good service.

I have never ordered from Schwan's. However were I to, I would treat them much like the pizza delivery guy.

Is it delivered quickly, hot, and what I ordered? Then the delivery man gets a tip.

Is it slow, cold, and somehow wrong? No tip. Maybe no money.

It's a mutually symbiotic system. If you order regularly and that driver gets to know you and know you tip, odds are he'll make it to your place at the start of the run rather than last. Who knows he might not even spit in your marinara sauce. [:D]

Well DRano, at least you had something funny to say, even if you did have to steal it from me. [}:)]
