    That is a good one. Very sad, but true.

    Two of my [former] best friends could use a subscription. Both good guys, but married manipulative harridans. These witches didn't like their husbands to have their own friends, and they both ran off friends like me.
    Not like I wanted to be in the company of someone like that.

    It points up profound weakness in a man when he gets involved in a relationship like this.

    Reminds me of several guys I used to work with who never carried any money. Some were tighter than the bark on a tree but others would freely admit to anyone "my wife only lets me have $5" or whatever and were continually trying to get someone to buy 'em a Coke, etc.
    They soon learned not to ask me. Or they'd say "if I have money I spend it". Guess they never learned what your supposed to learn at oh, I dunno, 14! They were shocked to see me carrying 1-2 thousand in cash on me at all times. I haven't had a checking account since '82 and cash gets me frequent discounts. And, I don't lose stuff. I'm on only my 3rd comb since high school 40 years ago. Without cash in my pocket I feel as naked as when I'm not carrying.
