Yes but he was using one chambered in .455 wildey.

Another one to check out in .45 win mag is the LAR grizzly. Now that's a 45.

You can make brass by cutting down a 308 case

Also, Rhineland Arms was offering a conversion for small and large ring mausers to the 45 win mag, using 30 carbine magazines.

I bought one in .475 but, haven't been able to get ammo yet.
I've heard some good and some bad about them but, 2 of the more professional reviews that were negative sounded crazy.

I have the engraved model but I have never fired it so I really have no more experience with it than the average guy who handled one at a gun show. they are big-n-heavy and the shells are expensive. Cool looking though

I had bought a 475 with a 8'' barrel but, it actually had a 10'' barrel (a lot of people seem to measure it wrong). I sold it for a few hundred more than I payed, because the 10'' was in the death wish movie.
also an interesting little fact the wildley was in death wish 3, but is on the dvd box cover of the first death wish movie.

MANY years ago I went to a suicide where an elderly man killed himself by shooting himself in the chest with a .45 Win Mag Wildey. He was ill, his wife had recently died, and he felt this was how he should end it.

I'm not going to pass judgement on someone doing something like that, I've never been in his shoes and I hope I never am...but I did feel for the gun, which (not suprisingly) the family didn't want and it's now a piece of re-bar somewhere.

This is the first, and only, Wildey I've ever seen or held.
