I like the old Walthers, I had one for ages. When I shot it the sharp-edged trigger guard wasn't the best feeling thing on my middle finger, but the gun was easier to conceal than the old P226 or S&W 5906 I carried at the time.

I had it double on me 2x, so I sent it packing.

I still have an old Hungarian FEG copy of the PPK. That gun has been a reliable little gun for a long time. This has been retired from carry for the Ruger LC-9.

I also have an Iver Johnson TP-22, a copy of the Walther TPH. This was my first pocket gun. Lousy trigger pull, but otherwise a fun little plinker (with sights that make ANY shot a challenge!). Suprisingly loud for a .22LR as well.....

Wasn't that 007's pistol of choice?

I think JB preferred a little Beretta, but M made him exchange it for a Walther in one of the early JB movies, claiming it had recently jammed and put JB's life at risk. I remember the scene in M's office. JB even tried to sneak his Beretta out, but M caught him and made him leave it. [:D]

have an interarms ss ppk, canot say a single bad thing about it. bought the wife an IJ tp-22 about 1986 she loved it, never failed and she could out shoot most of our male friends with it. came home on night from work and she told me she had shot something ugly in the dog run. took a light and went to look, found a possum with multiple hole in it. ask her why she shot it so many times "thats all the bullets i had" true story.

The first gun James Bond carried was a 25 ACP and a Berretta I think. That is one piece of useless trivia I came across some where.

I have a PPK/S 380 with the KSP logo on it. The Kentucky State Police issed them to their troopers as back up pieces many years ago. Most troopers through them in teh closet an dnever carried them. The one I have is near 100% and shoots nice. All I saw for sale ran 95% or better due to not being carried/used at all.

In many of the Ian Fleming books Bond carried the Beretta .25 ACP "with a skeleton grip." In the other books by John Gardner or Raymond Benson James Bond has carried a variety of guns, including Walther p99's, the ASP converted S&W auto "with a guttersnipe sight and Glaser safety slugs", heck there was even one where he had a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag hidden in a secret compartment in a SAAB.

BUT the PPK is most associated with 'ol 007. [:)]

My BIL in Utah carries one every day and swears by it. [OK, he's a Mormon, he doesn't swear.[:D]] But he still carries it everywhere.
I've shot it and it's a cool little reliable pistol and fairly accurate, too.
I just never aquired a taste for them.
