Need advice for dealing with my first NR bidder

* I have to eat a slice of humble pie here. It ended less than 48 hours ago and the cashier's check was in today's mail. Apologies for being a doubter and score one for the good guys.

I seldom sell but I have a handgun on the auction side being bid on by two different NR bidders.
Should I expect disappointment?

Nope, gotta start somewhere. Very likely will be a smooth transaction.

Do you take credit cards? That will avoid any personal check hassles.

    Good luck

I've started on every on-line auction like that.

Well these two noobs picked a fine time to jump in. I'm reluctantly selling and hoping for a quick clean transaction.

Not a plug, it just seemed like I should link it:

You open a franchised carry out store then expect only people that have bought from that franchise before come in and buy your products..

What did that guy with 2500 A+'s think before bidding on your item when you were NR?

Get a grip.. If you do not want to offer ALL your items to registered Gun Broker members then why do you have them listed in the first place..

I'd be wary of anyone that has asterisks in their user name, but then again I'm paranoid.

The asterisks don't bother me as much as the ampersands.

I've had several NR bidders and for the most part all of them were very good buyers and eager to please. My biggest complaint/problem with bidders is some peoples near total inability to follow even the simplest instructions and this can apply to someone with no previous purchases as well as someone with hundreds.

You will probably be fine. I have had a lot of NR rated and buyers with less than 5 feedbacks lately. A lot of people are buying more stuff now than ever before. A lot of new buyers out there. The only problems I have ever had were with established members. All 3 are now gone. Bad feedback from multiple sellers probably got all 3 run off.

Started out with a buy it now and paid instantly. Then I moved on to other smaller items in a real auction. Once I had a few good transactions, I purchased a pistol.

I did this because I didn't expect a dealer to take me seriously with NR as a rating and didn't want them to feel uncomfortable.

It would be wise to be cautious about NR bidders on a high dollar item. Use the regular precautions and cover your butt.

Probably about 4 years ago I was an NR bidder. I was a bit of a pain in the behind to the sellers the first 2 buys I made. I am the polar opposite of a computer geek. I had no clue what to do, but a bunch of E-mails and some helpful sellers helped me get the deals done, guns paid for. Everybody has to be an NR once. Be helpful, but be careful. About the 4th time I bought, my computer crashed. A week+ later I contacted the seller, explained what happened. He seemed understanding, I sent money, everything was cool. So far the sellers have been very helpful to me. As a result, a few sellers have made some money off me, and I got a few guns that I wanted. Seems like a resonable trade off to me.

    I'd have a lot more money if I'd stayed a NR bidder.[8D]
