and that limping for more than a year had weakend my right leg
to the point that it took me over a year to get the strength back
even tho the pain was gone soon after the surgery.
Take care of it Jeff, we aint kids anymore.[;)]
Yeah, what is that?! I had a tibial table fracture of the left knee a few years ago. Now, when I get up from a crouch or a deep knee bend, I don't feel, but I hear, a crunching sound in my knee. Like someone stepping on cornflakes. No discomfort, just an unsettling noise.
You are just an old lady Andrea,....get used to it.[:D]
My knees sound like someone ripping a turkey leg from an uncooked carcass a lot of times. Usually it does not hurt.
Is that close enough to your description?[;)]

I have gotten the pressure in my calf to a minimum with alternate heat/ice.
I swear, my calf blew-up to 1.5X my R calf..My R foot is the one with all the hardware in it.
I won't put y'all thru lookin' at that X-ray ...again..
My knee has sounded like a bowl of Rice Krispies since 1998. [;)][:D]
A good physical therapist told me there was nothing wrong with my fixed kne and the trouble was my weak leg from years of favoring it.
He had some muscle specific exercises that had me fixed up in a month.
I figure that changes to any will affect the others; usually in an adverse manner.
Had ACL surgery on right knee, they also removed a shreaded meniscus cartilage. Bone to bone now.

But, Are U still trying to get 40-50 hrs a week planting pipe and fittings out of it?
Exactly!!
It's not that I'm afraid to get cut.I can't afford to see a "Dr"!!!
If a DR. could guarantee it'd work.I would take the surgery, awake and with only local anesthesia.
I love power-tools!!
With knee problems you can develop both a knee effusion and Baker's Cyst. Both are fluid collections and can rupture or weep out and the fluid defuses into the calf area and sometimes swelling of the foot. It's basically just the body absorbing the fluid and it does go down with a little time. The fluid takes up space and can cause some discomfort until absorbed.
