The job of a Moderator

It takes years and years of training to be a discussion board Mod, it's not for the faint of heart. One has to analyze both the forum rules and the rights of the members. Quick decisions are often necessary. To be a mod, one has to be in top physical and mental condition, most good mods will do hours of physical conditioning, then hours of studying the legal aspects of decision making on discussion forums. It's often life and death decisions...you know the old saying, When seconds count, a moderator will never fail...I admire discussion board moderators, they have what it takes. They are a man's, man... the top gun...it's no wonder they get all of the chicks.

Dano is that you?
NO, I think it's PISS5255 whining again [:0][:D]
About 5 years ago, things were much worse. GB apparently did a purge or some just went away.
Whether they get all the chicks are subject to your definition of chicks.
They do love to join in some of the discussions.
They also seem to let us vent at times.
I quickly learned that when some hothead calls you a "power-hungry tyrant" what it translates to is "You pulled my disgusting/libelous post."
It's just about a thankless job save for the occasional PM from somebody who got smeared by the above hothead. And those stay private.
Most however, are worth every penny.

I haven't been here long enough to know, I was just generally being cute and venting as I have had problems with some God like moderators on another discussion board. A little bit of power can go to a human beings head fairly quickly.
Sounds like you need to put down the keyboard and get some fresh air.
I have never "spoken" to one - or had one "speak" to me, so I did not know we had any.

If, by chance, you're referring to the Moderator who directed you to the Want Ad Forum rules that require you to check the auction side before placing an ad for one of the most common guns listed, that would be me. [^]

Some of the mods here are not worth what they are being paid.

I think I'm worth 100 times my paycheck. [;)][:D]

Venting here about problems there, may not be the best way to get started.

lol. I assure you "getting started" on a discussion forum means nothing to me..this isn't my life, this isn't my job, I have absolutely no dependency on this or any other forum or any desire to "fit in".. A powerful moderator could wipe out all of my posts and ban me for life and it wouldn't even phase me.

Wow! With that kind of rugged individualism and fierce independence, it is a wonder you pause to interact with the Great Unwashed at all.
I just want to emphasize how much I appreciate you taking the time on this forum to explain to all the problems you have had on another forum, neither of which is important to you at all....
They walk among us....
I made that Bugs Bunny's favorite color in your honor: Maroon.

Wow, thanks for gracing us with your august presence. Until mid-school starts.
I have no dependency to pile on beyond that.

The Mods here are good.
They do love to join in some of the discussions.
They also seem to let us vent at times.
Yeah ... but we still can't have "Remote Girl" [:(]
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
