Two new ones in one day...

Made a quick trip to the range very early this morning to beat the heat. Shot two new guns for the first time. My Ruger 10/22 with the Mannlicher stock (And would everyone PLEASE refrain from asking if it's Worls clas? That got old a couple years ago.) and the 7.5" Pietta SAA clone in 45 Colt.

Getting the scope on target (4x Redfield) I put 3 rounds in one hole at 15 yards. Backing up to 25 was less than satisfactory. I'm going to assume the heat was starting to get to me at that point and try again when it's cooler.

The 10/22 looks like this...

The revolver shot the way fixed sight guns always shoot for me...to the left and strung vertically. I don't know if more practice would help or if I am just hopeless.

I love the look of the 10/22's with the Mannlicher stock. As far as your groups being less than what you were looking for, were I in your shoes, I would give the .22 a real work out w/out really worrying about groups to give things a chance to settle in and also swap around different brands and types of ammo then shoot for accuracy.
    You may well be surprised.

10/22's are great little rifles so just be patient with it.

Too much finger and old eyes cause the vertical stringing and shooting to the left like in you target.

A single action with its slow lock time will really exacerbate too much trigger finger or too much grip with the thumb.

Nice looking 10/22 I have like it but in Stainless steel.

Dadgum, not again. Went to clean the revolver and a screw fell out of the case. Both of the screws behind the trigger guard fell out. One I have as it came out in the case, the other is on the ground somewhere at the range. For the past several years 9 of 10 times I shoot a gun breaks or I hurt myself or both. I can't break this pattern.

Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

    Hey Doc,
    Not bad for a amateur...
The heat can be a factor on both the gun and shooter.

The Pietta bring the rear sight to the left some.
Clint Eastwood in Pale Rider you are not!

    Have fun!

LGS has the new drop in trigger for 10/22 for $79. Gonna buy one next payday.
After much practice, I can knock .223 cases of the fence post at 30 yards 2 out of 3 shots with stock trigger.
I believe the key to accuracy with the stock trigger is practice enough to get to know when the creepy trigger breaks.
