not for me.
i dont like the idea that the schools will be closed tomorrow, but they dont close for veterns day

    MLK was a great man for civil rights, but a holiday?? Well ok but I agree we should also close everything for the veterans too.

    Me neither. I've got contracts for 4400 sq. ft. of tile to get installed between now and Feb. 1st! Looks like I'm back to a 6 day a week schedule for a while. This working for a living crap really eats into my play time!

    Tomorrow is the day my giveaway ends, hardly a reason to take the day off...
    As for MLK, I find it so interesting how his martyrdom has created such a distortion of history. His cause was just but he is no more worthy of a national hoiliday than any other civic leader to fought to make all Americans equal. I would give him a holiday right after I gave one to Susan B. Anthony Or Malcolm X

    They heard from me at work, Its a Paid Holiday but not Veterans Day. That really Pisses me off.

    When you look at what Dr. King stood for and preached, there is a lot to admire about the man. The idea that we ought to look at a man's character instead of color I believe is spot on. Unfortunately, those who would corrupt his legacy believe we should grant special benefits to some based on color and not character.

    If the holiday were about restoring his legacy instead of corrupting it I would be more sympathetic.

    If it was in the fall I'd have you come up and we could chase salmon on Sundays![:D] I normally work by myself but had to hire four guys to get all this stuff done. Before you volunteer to sleep in the shed you should know that it's 21 degrees and four inches of snow on the ground! Brrr!

    the inscription, which currently reads: "I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness." It became a point of controversy after the memorial opened in August. King sounds like "an arrogant twit".., which he was, not to mention he loved communism, he was a traitor to to the U.S.A.
