My wife fell in love with this ring

while we were on vacation. I had just bought her a ring, for our anniversary, but she picked up the other ring and I could see in her eyes that she had to have it. She never asks me for jewelry or anything. All my wife does is work and save. She never complains and does all the yard and house work while I am working. So today I sold one of my prized rifles. A marlin 1894 fg 41 magnum NIB. I just got off the phone with the jeweler and he had sold the ring.[V] He then told me he could order another one and have it to me in eight weeks. No rush, I want to give it to her for Christmas. [:)]I will be sending the check tomorrow. This is how we made it 26 years. It's give and take and my wife gives more to me then I could ever ask for, so that means more to me then the rifle.

IIRC, she posts on this board too. Is this supposed to be a surprise for Oakie mom?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

    Smart man, Mr. Oakie.

Sounds like your wife is much like mine. Works her tail off, doesn't run off shopping all the time, saves more money than I can believe.

Last Christmas we were walking through a mall Christmas shopping, and all of a sudden she took a left into a jewelry store. Started looking at stuff, and finally declared that this certain diamond necklace would go nicely with a set of her earrings. (Which I bought her some years ago when I forgot her birthday![:0])

I said well, if you walk outside, we'll see what Santa says.

Turns out Santa brought her that exact necklace! Santa is a damn smart man, if I do say so myself.[:I]

Heck, is is only money, and when it makes them happy, what better use for it. [^]

I got a steal on a .22 Automag from an individual for $200. A couple weeks later me and the wife went to a gun show and I sold it for $800. Before we got out the door I was short $275 on a ring she HAD to have. I guess I still came out ahead.[:D]
