How are you holding up???? I hope you find peace and comfort in God in you time of loss.I don't know your father, but if he was anything like his son, He was a good man. I am sure he was very proud of you.Thinking of you and know that we are all here for you. Your friend, John Oakie Taggart.
Hey, I was going to try to hook up with you for a cup while we were in Bozeman.
But we were covered up with family. Could only coax the Grandkids out of the C'mon inn pool long enough to go eat.
Next trip to Bozeman shouldn't be so hectic.
Have you been to the new Wild Sheep Foundation headquarters just North of 4 corners?
We stopped in just before they closed on Friday. They have a full body mount with replica horns of the new World Record Bighorn that was found on Wild Horse Isand on Flathead lake and accompanying score sheet. It is massive score 216 3/8 and many other to view, also the Kennetrek boot shop has a slug of nice mounts to view.
Joe, try being a cowboys fan.[}:)][}:)] At least you guys get to the championship games and super bowl. We just keep sliding backwards. congrats on a great season. The 49'ers made a game of it. You will be back next year[;)]

how do you ins keep water for your stock in negative degree temperatures[?]
I have one Ritchie heated automatic that our outside horses/mules use. one Lil Spring heated automatic in a pen with 3 colts and 4 100 gallon Rubbermaid tubs with 4500W heaters that are shared between 6 pens with single horse in each pen and one large pen with 4 calves and two goats.
Water for them comes from hose and hydrant. Have to manually fill and drain hose after each filling, about every third morning.

16 here this morning. I might have to wear long pants today. Seriously, I wear shorts until the first snow fall. Donna just shakes her head. Chris takes after me. He got sent home from middle school one day, because he showed up in short and flip flops in January. [:D] I had to take him sweat pants and sneakers. We had both left for work and he got himself on the bus. The teacher even laughed when he walked in. Oakie
I saw a post on another site at 06:00 this morning in Medicine bow showing a digital thermometer-40.9
Reminded me of the winter of 78/79.
Mule
That was a dandy, and I remember it well. While we did not hit 40 below, it was plenty cold, and stayed that way for a while. Jan 79 stayed well below zero the whole month. It would get down to 20?-30? below at night, and "warm" up to 10?-15? below in the "hot" part of the day. I was working on a ranch after school/weekends. It was down on the flats by the Clark Fork River, and the wind would blow down that river canyon. Damn it was cold.
There was one good thing to come out of it though. A couple enterprising fellers hauled 2 drums of water out west of Missoula to the Frenchtown scales. They poured that water down inside the scale, and it was closed until the end of April.[^][^]

You would have to see it to believe it, but we've been in the single digits with below zero wind chill for several days, and many of the dopes I work with are still wearing shorts, and migrate to and fro their vehicles without a coat. Dumb as dirt.

My wife and I were out shopping a few days ago and the temperature was already near freezing and I saw an old fart walk out of a Mall store, into the parking lot, he had on shorts and a short sleeve shirt, but he did have on his gloves! [:D]
