I'm with you[:)]
.
I have a circa 1953 336 in .35 Remington that has a great slick action.
rimfire, I like my new Henry, but I have never shot a Marlin 39 or Winnie 9422, so it would be hard for me to judge that catagory.
I like the savage 99 followed by the Marlin 336
+ 1
Winchester 1895,
Savage 99,
Winchester 88,
Browning BLR
Marlin 1895
I prefer my blr because of the short throw, you can really jack em off when you gotta.
you set up somebody with your word choice[:o)][:o)][:I][8D]

Has Winchester started making levers again? They stopped when they shut down the plant a few years ago.

I'm kinda partial to my Marlin 1895 in 45/70, too. Had the Winchester '94, and a Marlin 1894. I liked the 94 Winchester fine, but the 1894 Marlin was a jam-o-matic. This was many years ago, maybe they improved them.
I just like that big boom the 45/70 lets off!
Made #2. Winchester 1866 .44
Made #3. Winchester 1873 .44/.40.
You can ask General Custer someday if he feels the same.
If someone finds or knows of a NIB with hang tag 1873 Winchester .44/.40 for sale. Please let me know.
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
