I see little to argue with in the article.

The focus shifted inordinately to the possiblity/probability of being injured or killed "because" of forced seat-belt use, when the underlying themes of individual choice and intrusive, unconstitutional, predatory-government was quite sufficient to illustrate the issues.

Setting that aside, the article was an excellent illustration of predatory unconstitutional government actions.

    Thanks for posting it.

I know first hand about death from a seatbelt,,A policeman friend of mine had his family in his cruiser and was hit from the rear with a tractor trailer, Being it was a police cruiser all door locks are controlled by the driver, back doors could not be unlocked by passengers. The wreck put him in a postion where he couldnt get to the electric switch for the doors and his seatbelt jammed and he couldnt get out of it, The entire family burned to death in that one..The report never said anyting about him being able to cut the seatbelt. Anyway who carries something they can get to in a hurry to cut seatbelts???

It's still leagl to ride a motor cycle with out a
helment( as it should be), still leagl to jump out
of an air plane ( as it should be) yet I can be fined
for driving my car without a seat belt.
The seat belt offers no benifit untill the wreck has happend
at which time the sky diver, and the motorcyclist are
usualy dead. I will say: Seat belts save lives, and
we all should wear them while in a car. However the
Goverment has no business making this a crime, while
other activitys are clearly much more dangerous.
Another example of our freedoms going down the drain.
It's the same old trade off, freedom for security, or
in this case safety. My employer demands we wear seat belts
while driving a company vehicle, and rightly so because
while in their vehicle, they share some responsability.
However my goverment should not have that right.
Maybe for minors, not yet deemed to be responsible for
themselfs. but there are far more hazardous things that
are unregulated aside from the automobile.
I have to quit now, my blood pressure is going up.

You could cure the need for seat belts if you
could cure the BAD DRIVING HABITS ---
People just seem to just keep running into
    each other ---
YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO DO THAT ---

It is common now days to ask someone 20 years old
"when did you have your FIRST accident"

My one and only accident happened after in was driving
over 40 years -- when some one RAN INTO ME ---

    You figure ---
