My White Privilege

Around 6 years old my Dad had a rule you had to get up at 7. Whether you did anything was up to you.

At 10 or 11 (cant remember) i would ride my bike to the hosiery mill where my Mom worked and go buy breakfast for everyone and get tips and keep the change. Plus i used coupons.

I did that from 10 to 16. At 16 i got a job working in the mill where my Mom worked during the summer.

Then i joined the military for 10 years.

Then i started work at a engine factory as a mechanic. I worked 60 to 100 hours a week from 1994 to 2010.

During that time i was a single Dad with no visitation from her Mom. Plus i went to college and got a degree in Facility Maintenance and my Journyman Card in Facility Maintenance along with my refridgeration license.

I went from a junior mechanic to leed welder and then to leed electrician.

My white privilege consisted of me working my butt off until i got cancer.

Yep, I was a product of white privilege. My first bike, well not mine completely, but I did get to use it. I learned to ride on it.

I was from a rich family. My dad had a camera. I sure wish I could get my hands on the home movies and slides to digitize.

yep..i started working at the serice station when i was 12.. weekends and holidays so the regular employees could take time off..also at the implement store and farm...station was open 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm year around...started farming nights and weekends about age 21 while working a full time job and continued till only farm in later years...quit that when i wore to many parts out to get around good..i think tearing down our nations true history is no more than a concerted effort by AMERICAs enemies to divide and conquer..i am no nazi, nor radical but having LEO standing by and letting this happen is disgrace and dishonor to those that built this country in one way or another to the status it has achieved...with so much of this activism seemingly done by those recieving support to live comfortably by those that have to work

I grew up in the DC area, one of my very best friends was a black kid named Darryl.

I reconnected with him years later on Facebook for a brief stint until he started spouting racist comments regarding how tough he had it being a black man.

Really we grew up together, I slept at your house you slept at mine, Not once in school was he ever singled out for being black (it was a black majority school anyway) you went on and got a degree and became a CPA and started a "haberdashery" business, really hard for me to feel sorry for you LOL I couldn't listen to his wining so I unfriended him.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!
