To read this article one would think that is what's being implied. Did you realize black voters were disenfranchised again in 2016, which helped Trump to win? This article says so.

This is the kind of nonsense that keeps us a divided nation,....an entire sub-class of people that refuse to look in the mirror and see their own failure, but insist upon continuing with the mantra as if they are still in slavery somehow. They are enslaved only by their own mentality and culture.

Race hustlers. They come in droves in politics, the media, education, and wherever they can be bussed in, or flown to, in order to disrupt the daily lives of ordinary, hard working people in communities that are not adhering to their perverted, progressive way of life. Not only that, we are reminded of this every time we pick up the morning paper, turn on the radio, or have to put up with at work. I've seen this all my life and just when you think it might get better this awful trend goes on another twenty year tear and gets worse. At least now, the typical American citizen has begun to fight back with the election of Trump as our next president. I have to believe that intelligent people will figure this out as they age and that the next generation will chip away at correcting the causes that keep us divided. We could improve the situation by treating all people as equals and teaching our young folks to pull themselves up by their boot straps, but that begins, in part, with improving the environment that the perpetrators control.

And as long as you perpetuate the hate using "African American" it will stay divided.

There is no Africa in any of the Americas. That is a disrespectful term to all Americans, North, South and Central.

I don't know if this is relevant.

I don't like the term "African American" when used to intentionally separate a group of people.

Irish, Scottish, English, German, Italian, Etc. have all assimilated into Americans mostly due to cross marrying from one clan to another.

When My mom married my Dad some of the family refused to speak to them since one was of German decent and one Irish.

Clearly with only 13% of Americans described by the census as black and the high apparent number of blacks marrying/mating with whites it shouldn't be long generationally speaking before we have effectively assimilated the blacks.

As far as minorities not having opportunities to succeed i would point to the Asian population who have higher educational success, and lower rates of unwed mothers, drug abusers Etc.

The Hispanics in this area also seem to be doing rather well. Many Hispanic businesses have sprung up and I see many contractors that appear to be doing very well of Hispanic decent.

So my take is any American and even illegal aliens can do well in America if they want to. Using color or race as a crutch does nothing but harm.

Perhaps the most prescient paragraph in the story...

"There will be a yearning for a unifying black leader to emerge from the black community. Many may want Obama to continue to carry that torch. He will still live in Washington, and the image of Obama standing up to Trump's bigotry in the nation's capital could inspire many. Rev. William Barber, his Moral Mondays movement, and his opposition to North Carolina's radical, racist, and anti-democratic politics might become the champion many black voters unite around. Politicians Cory Booker and Keith Ellison could obtain more influential roles nationally within the black community. The Black Lives Matter movement will continue to energize especially younger African Americans. There remain many significant voices that could potentially unite the black electorate in the years to come, and I am confident that we will remain vocal in championing racial equity and progressive change."

That paragraph is translated to mean we are looking for the next Marxist Leader to razzle and dazzle ignorant Professional Black Victims.

This particular group need not learn,....they are the 'permanently abused' and have been wearing it as a badge for a number of decades now.

Of course in reality they are abused by no one but themselves, and the party of liars that needs their votes so badly.

Sounds more to me that the article is calling for a political "black messiah" to appear and lead the downtrodden into a socialist utopia.

It is all they have. Their blatant racial tribalism will continue to be a rallying point for them...and the source of their continuing failure.

Take the paragraph cited, and reverse the racial terms. What would the reaction be if there 'unifying WHITE leader to emerge from the WHITE community'? The hue and cry from the Ethnic Grievance Industry would be deafening.

The hypocrisy of the left, and the various component entities of its identity politics power structure is apparent, malicious, and toxic. They offer nothing to strengthen this country, or its people. Quite the contrary.

They seek to weaken us, as the left here and around the world for some time has been driven by an antipathy toward Western Civilization.
