I don't know if I just had a bad dream or if someone told me this. Did anyone hear about a $50.00 per firearm tax imposed by the federal yahoos. I hope to God it was a nightmare.

Thinking today. Everyone should get on there states A%% about all of the additional money they will be getting for their wildlife and make sure it goes there, Since gun and ammo sales have been so so good for the last couple of months there should be more money than these politians have seen in a long time for this purpose and I guarantee you they all have better uses than what the law stated it was for.

    My two cents

I just read this on another forum anyone else hear about this new bill?

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax
form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of
    $50 per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public
knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal
Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this
without the Senate voting on it at all.

The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage,
http://www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill
    number, SB-2099.

You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of
this e-mail to every gun owner you know to help STOP this bill!!

This attempt might be a spinoff of the Canadians charging $50.00 per firearm that crosses the border. I understand that this was to have begun a few years ago. Just another big ripoff.
    What's next?

I would be ready for an ammo tax within the next three years. And then be ready for an all-out ban on untaxed/untracked ammo after that.

The 2nd protects guns, but not the ammo needed to use those guns.

I don't know how a judge would see it, but
to keep and bear arms can not be done with
an unloaded gun. It don't say pistol, rifle
    or shotgun, it says arms.
