The dog was reportedly unharmed, but in the custody of Forsyth County Animal Control.

Rookies probably know how to use their firearms. Administrators probably lost their gun skills under the paper. However, one should know their own limitations. Maybe he should carry one bullet in his front pocket. It worked for Barny Fife.

    Wrong county.
Barney was from Surry county. Not Forsyth.

This happened almost a year ago. Does anybody know the outcome?

Some places in North Carolina do have some unusual law enforcement practices. Back in the late 1960s and early 1970s Guilford County, next county over from Forsyth, had a sheriff who made up his own law. If Sheriff Gibson thought something should be illegal, he simply started enforcing it as if it were.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

There's your Affirmative Action police chief.
Some of these cops seem to have declared a "War on Dogs." I have declared a "War on Cops Who Shoot My Dogs."
Try me out and you will see, plus, I have something that will go right through a vest.

He is currently the Chief of Police. My guess is the investigation stated it was an unfortunate accident but a justified and proper shooting.
