Use incendiary tear gas rounds. Then wait.

I can remember when Little Elm did not have a PD.
Yes, chiefr, when we were kids Little Elm incorporated and came to exist solely for the purpose of voting the area wet and putting in a liquor store.
I bought beer there a few times while I was still a minor.
A helicopter with a Dillon Aero mini-gun and 5000 rds of ammo. If there are innocents in the house hold fire until the cop killer is alone then let loose. If the place burns down from all the tracers, "oh well".
another needless loss generated by a POS

Comes to mind.
Officers were able to get a vehicle to Walker and rush him to another area, where he was picked up by an air ambulance. He was then flown to Denton Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Atleast the suspect is dead, but that is no consolation for the family of Det Walker. RIP your tour in hell is over.
Incendiary rounds are not a good solution. Sounds cool....but, what about the owner of the home and all of their belonging? Judge, jury, and execute via fire?
Fire insurance. House can be rebuilt. (Good) People cannot.

RIP officer, you fought the good fight and paid the ultimate price.
Prayers said for the officer's family!

Today is 1/18, we've lost a number of officers already this year. Doesn't look like there's gonna be any let up from 2016's record pace.

Every officers death is a tragedy, but it has never been safer to be a police officer. When I was on the street on patrol in the 1970s-80s we had an average of 200 officers killed a year, about 1/2 by gunfire (the last 5 years have averaged 124 officers killed per year). In the 1970s-80s the US population and number of officers was 2/3 what it is today, so the police/death ratio was even an additional 1/3 higher then. The last several years have been at historic lows for police officer deaths, particularly considering the large increase in the number of police officers the last 30 years, from about 600K to 900K. So far 6 officers have been killed this month, if it keeps up that will be 9 by the end of the month. If it stays at that, it will be one of the safest years for officers in history.
statistics are interesting....from a safe distance
I stated facts.
one officer out of 900K is a very small percentage ...but he had a 100% bad day....i stated facts
That has no relevance to the conversation of officer safety, past and present. My comment was in response to this "we've lost a number of officers already this year. Doesn't look like there's gonna be any let up from 2016's record pace". Many news sources continually say "how much more dangerous police work is today", which simply is not true. Police officers today receive better training, use better procedures, and have better equipment and communications. Plus recent nation wide polls, according to Police magazine and other police sources, show that police are held in higher esteem today than any previous time in history. I think that is great.
