Wow you gave someone a C feedback because they didn't leave you feedback? Then promis an A+ if they leave the feedback? Thats sorta like blackmail.

That is exactly what it is...to an extent. I was hoping that this might motivate him to learn how to use the auctions properly and leave us some feedback.

It looks like it worked...this customer finally got around to leaving me feedback. I have changed his. [:)]

Yeah I'd say thats bull-chit. I didn't leave a seller any feed back and he did the same. The deal went thru jus fine. I paid and he delivered end of story.

That is exactly what it is...to an extent. This individual got a steal and we went out of our way for him...and then stated that he did not have time to figure out how to leave us feedback. I even spelled out the process in an email to him and he still refused to take the time to leave us feedback. I was hoping that this might motivate him to learn how to use the auctions properly.

I guess I didnt realize that leaving feedback was a requirement to purchase and pay for an item on GB. Upping your feedback number by threat seems alittle out of line. I was gonna buy the judge you have, but now that I know I will be threatened if I decide for whatever reason not to leave feedback after completing the transaction.....I think I'll pass.

I've seen quite a few sellers do this...and it's only a motivation to get them to leave feedback. It even said so in the feedback description...did any of you bother to read it. I clearly explained that his feedback would be changed back to an A+ as soon as he left us feedback. I was initially a little frustrated with this customer b/c it seemed (from our emails) as if he didn't want to bother trying to figure out how to do it. I had left him a A+ initially and that is what he has now.

    Quit your bitchin' [;)][:)]

If you got your money, why the big deal about feedback, it might be different if he left you some type of negative feedback. If I was a seller on this site trying to make some cash, the least of my worries would be a buyer who didnt leave me any feedback....Childish at best.

Feedback is very important for internet auction sites...and only takes a moment to do. Folks who don't make a living selling (some of it on the internet) would not look at the matter the same as someone who does. We go out of our way for our customers to provide the best possible customer service...and to leave them feedback on their transactions...it's important that folks understand how auction sites work. This particular customer finally got around to leaving us our feedback (our reminder worked) and I have updated his.

Funny, but most of us here felt it was a threat, not a simple reminder.

Also, Ebay no longer allows sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers... maybe this is why...

Well, I was going to offer you one for free...but since you aren't interested I reckon I'll just sell it to the highest bidder.[;)]

It wasn't intended to be a threat. It was intended to be a reminder for the next time this buyer checked on the auctions.

So really, your feedback is feedback about the buyers feedback, and not actually so much about the actual auction?[?]

Seems to me it would be a lot easier to just say 'if you want feedback you must leave us feedback'. (unrequested feedback [;)])
