LOL!!!!
I will say it is VERY easy to start a fire with your mapp gas victor torch. Funny thing is this kid was probably using an el cheapo torch head that does not allow you the swivel action like a victor torch. There is no substitute! I can hold a torch flame off to the side of my hand less than an eighth of an inch away and it doesn't even get warm the heat goes STRAIGHT forward and up, that is something you learn very quickly working with copper. I have run MILES AND MILES AND MILES of copper and have NEVER once started a fire I have barely browned wood. To say the least without pulling my own chain I am a professional
that poor kid's career is over :-|

kyplumber,
You sure this wasn't your brother-in-law's nephew that you trained last fall??[8D]
What do you mean "his career is over"? Hell, it's his first day; people forget. A little more on-the-job-training and, you know what they say, "Practice Makes Perfect!" From now on, each house he burns down will be less and less expensive, until he gets it right!

I dont think he knows what he does for a living.
One day he is an expert on what trucks the major Gas producing companies use here for welding rigs.
Next day he is a proud union pipe line welders helper.
Today he is an expert plumber with MILES AND MILES AND MILES of copper pipe soldering experience.
So who knows?
