Vette Electrical Problems - Help!

The wife has a '01 Vette that has had electrical problems for a couple of years. Things like:

The PLs not operating by the remote & sometimes they lock or unlock while driving.

The CD changer has a mind of it's own.

Headlight doors sometimes don't work.

Last month she got in fired it up and the wipers wouldn't park. I had to pull the fuse.

Today she got in, turned the key, the wipers parked but it wouldn't fire. Cranks fine, dash says "reduced power" or something close to that.

She spent 3K at Estes Chevy last year. The same problems (except not starting) happen over and over. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Indy area.

Thanks guys,
It's too late for me, save yourself.

Sounds like a 'ground' problem to me.
Where, I have no idea, but that is where I would start.

    Thanks---Peabo

Probably a main harness,......it CAN be a nightmare.
You need to find someone that is an expert on harness/electrical in that particular vehicle, or you will spend a fortune, and never have a resolution.[xx(]

Go to corvetteforum.com and post in the C5 tech section.
    http://forums.corvetteforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

There will most likely be someone there with an answer. Every TSB issued for any year has been discussed and discussed on this forum. It is a great forum and 9 times out of 10 there is someone who has already experienced (and fixed) the problem being asked about.

You can also go to the regional section for Indiana and ask for referrals on a good independent shop in the area.

I spend (waste) as much time there as I do here [:D] mostly in the C6 section or Off Topic.

Don't know much about the newer 'vettes, but here's something to think about that applies to any vehicle with the ignition key in the column. (This is a long shot, too -- but has probably not been addressed).

The ignition switch can have a recurring short that can make the car do strange things. I've seen ladies that have a lot of stuff on their key chains (weight) that affects how far the key tumbler pushes the ignition switch and make the door locks, lights, wipers, etc. not work -- and even make the car not start. Readjusting the ignition switch (not the key tumbler if there's no short) and cleaning the stuff off the keychain sometimes helps.
