It cost me $16.50 to mail the dern-blasted busted scope back for warranty. The BRAND NEW mag light I got failed and it cost me almost 12 bucks to send it back for repairs, both were sent to California.

First things first. These companies need to move repair centers to Iowa, shipping to California is expensive! [xx(]

Then the manufacturer should send a check with the repaired item to compensate the owner for getting the busted thing back to them.

Okay, I am all better now, going to make some grilled fish and glazed carrots for dinner now. [:D]

It sounds like you went to the post office?

NEVER do that...........if you do, the USPS will gouge you an extra 30%. Print your postage online, and schedule a pickup with your mailman.

Also, order "Padded Flat Rate Mailing Envelopes". That is the cheapest way to ship most smaller items that weigh over a pound. You can use 4-5 envelopes to pad the item, if necessary.

I have only had one issue with Nikon scopes. Had one that fogged up about 6 months after I got it.

    Called Nikon
    Gave them the registration number
Put on hold for less than a minute
    Given a certification number
Told to take it to XXX shop
XXX shop called Nikon with certification number and told them it was fogged up
Walked out of shop 15 minutes later with a brand new scope at no charge and three boxes of ammo.

I did pay for the ammo thou to give a little business to the shop owner for helping me out and being so nice about it.
