Let's talk about ugly

I have a decent bid in on this one, though it will probably go beyond my limit. It is a .270 with a 24" barrel and a Sako, I like all of that. But, look at that stock!! Probably like an old misfit dog, the more your around it the more you appreciate it, but damn it's still ugly!

I don't know I actually kinda like it. I'm into some of those weird looking laminates. To me the ugly part about it is its right handed.[:D]

Well there you go, each to his own and all that. I like the stock.

And even though I'm a lefty that wouldn't stop me since I learned to shot right handed and have never actually fired a left handed bolt action gun.

I tend not to post about guns I'm actually considering buying anymore since the last time I asked someone to buy a gun I was looking at they did and I had to search quite a bit before finding it again for that price.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

I've got a couple of lefty bolts and 3 lefty AR's. I still have more right handed guns then lefty ones. The one thing I can't deal with on a righty gun being shot right handed are those cheek swells.

Well, it's no Glock, that's for sure.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I'm not worried. If I win it fine if I don't fine. Of course I would like to have it for my bid as I want a .270 for those times when a 300 mag is not needed (which are most days when you get right down to it), and ammo is cheaper.

Now Mogley, you're gonna have to get out of your pocket a little more than that to get past my bid. Dust off a few of those Benjamins now.

    Scout,

It isn't ugly. It's practical to prevent accidents. Look at the darker sections. It's telling the shooter which way to insert the bullets (point first)! [:D][:D][:D]

That's most likely a period era stock replacement..I know, I had one like it. The wood is soft,,but I like it,,and now am high bidder,,I DON'T need it,,I am trying to lighten the load,,but I will make someone pay for it.I collected Sakos about 30 years ago and just great rifles.[:)]

As much as I like to make sawdust/mistakes/firewood as a hobby, It's nice woodworking, but that pattern belongs in a 9th grade butcher block project (if they even have woodshop classes anymore!)

Problem solved, esp. when you know you're bidding despite of the stock.

Yep, my opinion also. She's no show stopper, but I have seen way way more ugly.
