My company would be doing fine also if it was government supported.
I did not watch the video after I clicked on it. I clicked it off as soon as the title came up.

I guess it goes to figure that GM is now just like NASA. Another government "drain" for money.

well, since Honda has been building clankers for years, somebody has to build a counter to what I can only presume is their attempt at building a droid army [;)]

I hear they wanted clones but that was struck down due to ethical concerns [:D]

Used to be a saying: "What's good for GM is good for the nation" - only now the nation is not the USA. [:(!]
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

They should be, they have been peddling progressive America with porn for a long time now:

    http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_2_17/ai_72273779/
    Porn 500

Pornography has become one of the hottest growth industries in the nation. Corporate America has taken notice and is rushing in to make a profit on smut.

Fortune 500 companies are swooping down from their financial kingdoms to compete in the pornography industry for a market flush with profits, growth potential and increasing public tolerance.

Porn is being downloaded, ordered, rented and tuned in at startling rates across America. And, with millions of customers spending billions of dollars on pornography, corporate America is starting to compete for a piece of that pie. In 1999 pornography sales in the United States exceeded $10 billion -- a market so lucrative that even blue-chip companies such as General Motors Corp. (GM) and AT&T Corp. have jumped into the dirty game. These two Fortune 500 companies are piping pornography by cable and satellite feeds into American homes, providing distribution that porn producers require to increase their production of smut, perversion and filth.

Bryn Pryor, managing editor of Adult Video News Online (AVN), hails the entrance of corporate America as essential to the growth of pornography in the domestic market. "It's more distribution for the industry, so it's all to the good. It's more places for them [producers of pornography] to sell their product," Pryor tells Insight. He is optimistic about the growth of video production the added cable and satellite distribution will create.

With net sales and revenue of $177 billion in 1999, GM is the largest company in the world, operating in more than 55 countries. Through its ownership of Hughes Electronics and DirecTV, a satellite-TV company, it has a reach of 9 million homes throughout America, offering each family news, sports, movies -- and porn. Or, as DirecTV labels it on their Website, "provocative entertainment from the leaders in adult entertainment."

AT&T has annual revenues of more than $62 billion, operates in 59 countries and reaches 16 million customers in the United States with its AT&T Broadband cable service. In addition to offering a vast selection of traditional channels, it promotes a full array of adult erotica via AT&T Broadband.

You must not watch the market as much as you watch youtube. GM stock is down again. This even after being backed by the US Government. GM sucks as an investment. GM's biggest hope is that the Toyota flap keeps up and it should due to the Gov ownership of GM. When you think of all the advantages that GM has over all other auto manufactures you would think they would be doing better.

Now go buy the Obama Motors Volt pacecar addition.

Wait til gas prices hit $4/gal they will be hitting up uncle Sam for more bail money. We seen what it done the last time it happened and this time will be worse. They didn't learn nothing as the bonuses have been flying just like old times and the big exec. getting their millions.

now that govt remimburses gm every time they sell a vehicle if i can get a subsidy from gm for my 4 door 4wd 3/4 ton pickup which gets 11 mpg pulling a trailer...seems fair ...money is taken out of my pocket, given to gm, then to me to subsidize gas, then taken out of my pocket & given to gm ...hey ...that's stimulus isn't it ??

Because GM is working with NASA whom is a govt. agency and the govt. isn't failing. Pretty smart on GM's part to assure themselves a corporate partnership.

As blind as you are read the mission statement closely. Math and Science. Obama won't be president much longer however his goal will probably continue to other nations and continents. You get more results in life with positives than negatives toward other nations. If we develope the science they may buy into it. Don't underestimate they are a stupid people. Look at India. Some of the most brilliant minds come from there. the U.S.A. just ain't the only kid on the block.
