Would a trade listing be hard to put up?

I have several collectible knives, I would like to trade them for a 1911 of equal value. If the trade is equal, say $400.00 in value and a deal was made GB would get its fees off the $400 bucks and everybody would be happy........
Am I overlooking something??

If I had $400 bucks and offered a guy to trade $400 for a 1911 ...Would GB get its fees?...u tell me
Gunbroker doesn't care if you pay in cash, trade or services. Your final value fees are based on the selling price.
you missed it completely

I can't see your point. If I listed the KNIVES as a WTT with a DECLARED value of 400 bucks, seeking a 1911 in trade GB would get its $$ from my declared value just like a BIN auction.....

I'm not mistaken I beleive the point is that this post looks alot like what ECC did.....using the forums to buy/sell/trade without using auction side where fees have to be paid.

I'm sure he means he would list them on the auction side with a "Buy it now" of $400 and state that he wants to trade for a 1911 of equal value. The buyer hits the BIN and they trade items. Gunbroker would get its fees based on the $400.

bpost knows the forum rules and wouldn't do that without going through the auction side. He simply asked the question if he could do it.
I stand by my honor and my buying and selling support of GB. I would not and it never crossed my mind to cut GB out of the pittance it costs to get top dollar for things I am selling. It is why I am seeking a way to make a trade inside the rules of GB or to add a WTT category.
Sorry, I just don't consider cheating people by obfuscation to be an honest thing to do, so I would not do it.

That is not what he stated
If you are accusing me of something have the balls to say so.

Then state what you want to accomplish in plain English...you seem to beat around the bush or lack the skills to get your point across.

Accepting your criticism in a positive constructive light, I should add; GB is looking for more categories for products. A WTT category would work if the value was declared for the offered item and a LISTING FEE was charged at the time of listing for the trade.
I hope that is better [:D]

bpost...I am with ya all the way on this one....I knew with alittle positive pushing you would come thru[:)]...keep us posted when this option is a real alternative here on GB...I've got LOTS of stuff to trade...just lacking cash nowadays...looks like it would be a win-win for all
I asked a question like this two years ago and got my hand slapped.
I'm getting mine slapped right now[:)]
