in a classic move, the naacp has managed to get a production of Agatha Christies Ten Little Indians to halt at a local school.
stating that 60 + years ago, the title was ten little N
s. I personally have a copy of most of christies books and i didnt know of this title until it hit the news. i know the book as, ten little indians, and I also have heard that it was called and then there were none. I think that perhaps I was ignorant of this title, however i seriously doubt that i am the only one that has never heard of this title. the naacp has once again brought up something from the past to cause problems today.

    That's the first I have ever heard of that, so if it did have that title it must have been an "awful" long time ago. When I was a little kid we use to dress up and play like Indians, and I distinctly remember that one of the Indian dress up contests that many kids entered into was titled the "Me Too" contest - seriously. This in the late 1940s. Here again, it must have been a long time before 1940.

    Then too, this sounds like the "recent" knowledge based upon obscure findings that Amazing grace was a tune first heard among slaves aboard ships on their way to America. True story - if you believe a particular side.

    I just googled this and it seems that Ten Little Indians was a book written by Agatha Christie in England back in 1939 which had been published earlier under the other title, so your post seems to be valid.

    They should drop Ten Little Indians and write their own play:

    Ten Little Idiots; The NAACP as a Failed Representative of American Blacks

    There was a crap song back in the late 80's/early 90's by the title of "Ten Little N****rs". The same group also had a "song" titled "Yo Momma is a Crack Ho".
    That's who the NAACP needs to be perntin' fingers at.

    I remember a news report about a high ranking corp. employee who, in a financial report used the word "niggardly",(he was white) and the mostly black corp. officers fired him. Supposed educated business leaders showing this much ignorance and stupidity is certainly not unique. Just look what is serving in our Congress and on the news daily. Why can't they do things to improve their race instead of continually being the victim? Ignorance , maybe?

    It amuses me that American whites are afraid to write/say the word black person
    (I had no idea it's even strikes terror in those here) - conditioned out of them - and yet other minorities use it as a daily/hourly and some even as a 'multi-minute word.' It demonstrates how cowardly, as racial segment in society, can get when intimidated constantly.

    If I choose to read that word or say that word, I doubt I will be instantly cast into Hell with all
    the nasty 'whities' - isn't that what we are referred to? LOL

    I don't think that the typical person is afraid to say the subject word Zip. I think that is far from the truth of the matter. I think the typical person would also not want to curse in public, or on Internet forums such as we have here, or even when alone, however, when people get angry they might resort to using such terms. Somtimes, perhaps, one right after another.

    I'm pretty sure the first copy of And then there were none that I read had the information about the other titles included.

    Apparently the children's rhyme the book is based on was very popular in Britain.
    I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

    The Nursery Rhyme

    Ten Little Indians

    Ten Little Indians going out to dine;
    One went and choked his little self and then there were nine.
    Nine Little Indian Boys sat up very late;
    One overslept himself and then there were eight.
    Eight Little Indian Boys traveling to Devon;
    One got left behind and then there were seven.
    Seven Little Indian boys playing with a hive;
    A bumblebee stung one and then there were five.
    Five Little Indian boys going in for law;
    One got in chancery and then there were four.
    Four Little Indian boys going out to sea;
    A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.
    Three Little Indian boys walking to the zoo;
    A big bear hugged one and then there were two.
    Two Little Indian boys playing with a gun;
    One shot the other and then there was one.
    One little Indian boy left all alone;
    He went and hanged himself
    .and then there were none.
