Purchased my first hand cannon today. Originally went to buy a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44, but they had the one I bought for a very good price. Got a Stainless Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull.[:0][}:)] I had to the chance to shoot a BFR Revolver in 45/70 many times and had promised myself that I would someday get a hand cannon. $500 brand new! I will be able to pick it up next weekend and I will have about 3 weeks to break it in before I head to Alaska.

    Sounds Good.....

My first one was a TC Contender 45/70 without the break.

My first was a Smith 29 my Dad gave me years ago. I still (and will always) have it.

My first was a .308 lone eagle with a 2inch break. Still have it and took it out to shoot about 3 weeks ago.

Jon, what barrel length is it? I've got one in 44mag with the 8 3/8" barrel, Mine is a SOLID shooter, I can get 1-1/4" groups off a bag at 50ft open sights, just looks like a single hole after 6 shots. I use my reloads to achieve these results. Have fun with it, if you don't yet reload, Now would be a good time to start. reloader44mag.

6 1/2" bbl. Haven't started reloading yet(at least in my current home), but things are looking good towards us being able to move out of our small apartment here in a few months. I have quite a bit of experience from when I was younger and lived at home and also have some dies, etc so all I really need to get started is some powder and a press. Have you made any modifications to yours or is it pretty solid the way it is in your opinion?

Jon, Like I said before, mine is a 44mag, its got the brushed stainless finish. I have not made any mods to mine. You hear alot of Taurus bashing here, and some is legit, but I tell ya what, this gun is one of the best revolver shooters I have ever owned. I've got a Dan Wesson with an 8" heavy vent and the Taurus can keep right up with it. Enjoy the gun. Speaking of "hand cannons" I recently picked up a 500S&W 4" barrel......wow...makes the 44mag seem like a 38spl[;)]

    reloader44mag,

That would be mighty kind of you, but I would be willing to pay you for the brass or at least for the shipping charges.

Jon, send me an email with your address and I will get them in the mail to you. No need to cover costs, I got them at the range, and I don't own a .454 casull gun. reloader44mag.
