I have a Colt Officers Model .38 and would like to know if modern .38 ammo (not +P) is okay to shoot. I figure this gun is from the early 1900's.

if its 38 special it will not hurt, I cant remember off the top of my head but I am thinking the model 38 did not shoot 38special,I am thinking that it shoots the old 38colt round and if so NO you cant shoot 38special in it.38special came out in 1906 so again if your gun is chambered for it its OK ,just make double sure that your gun is in fact a 38special
