Old browning pump?

I ran across this looking through 20ga pump guns. I think Browning made them. Kind of a long action. Anyway neat take down model.

Like a lot of things if I had extra cash I would bid on it just because I think it's a neat design. But the two things I never seem to have enough of are time and money.

I had one like it about 30 years ago , I liked the it , but sadly I could can never keep all the firearms as I would have liked too . so it parted company with me at that time I think I had given around a hundred dollars for the one I had .

Ive got the updated version of that, a stevens savage 620 chambered in 16 ga and I absolutely love it, a little heavy but not bad and built like a brick outhouse to boot

I've had several of those over the years, and I found them to be good, serviceable guns. One of my nephews still has one of them, that he uses for rabbits. I shortened the pipe on that one to 20 inches and installed a large-bead sight. Just for fun, I painted the stock with 'Property of Schofield Flower Shop', with the Chicago street address, and a big flower. A gag, for in case some slicker recognizes the former ownership of that shop [:D].

As mentioned this is a Browning patten gun made by Stevens as a Model 520. So made by Stevens as a store brand gun for Wards.

12ga. guns are still rather plentiful and many bring less than $200 for an average shooter. The 20ga however does draw a premium . As was done at the time with the Model 12 Winchester, the smaller gauges were built on smaller frames. They are not magnum guns and no 3 inch chambered versions were made. They are a good gun with probably the best take down design ever produced.

The Model 520 was followed by the Model 620 which had a slopping receiver rather than the humpback style.

I like those old break down pump shotguns. Don't own any.
Been a few years now but I shot a buddy's Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge. Did pretty well with it on informal clay shooting.
