My daughters dog died sometime last night. It looked as if he had just lied down and died as he was in his favorite spot and curled up just like he was asleep. I went outside to take care of the garden a little bit when I found him. My daughter was heart broken to say the least.
Well after the tears stopped we loaded up in the Bronco and went to the animal shelter and got this little girl (her name is Angel).
She is half lab and half rotwieler.
She is going to be an inside dog and as of yet the cats really do not know what to think of this little puppy being in the house, but I'm sure they will get used to her.

I had a Black Lab-German Shephard mix that died the same way she was curled up in her favorite spot by the bed and went to sleep and didn't wake up she was 14 years old and we got her as a pup. It's hard losing a pet, my sympathy and best wishes go out to you're daughter hopefully your new puppy can help to heal her broken heart.
I would understand the dog dying if it was older. But this dog was only 3 years old. He seemed to be fine last night and such and this morning he was dead.
It was strange.
I am sorry for your daughters loss, but I am so happy
you went to the animal shelter to get her puppy.
I think that the majority of our citizens have no idea
that last year 6,000,000 dogs and cats were euthanized
because they could not find homes for them. Our pets
have always been an extension of our family and loved
dearly, they are stuck with us until they die. I hope
I live to see the day when the adults(?) in our society
stop treating animals like they are a disposable
commodity.
Again, thank you and what a great name for that
precious looking puppy.
Sincerely,
C. Gibson
Congrats on the new member. Nice looking pup!
Sorry about your loss and at the same time I am happy for you with your new family member.
this new pup should be a nice one.
buddy of mine has a rock/greatdane now that is a large sack of teeth
We just got it yesterday and it is only 2 months old and allready house broken for the most part.
Rather than just going potty it starts walking around crying. We then take it outside and it does it's thing.
It does not seem to be eating well though. I just got a can of puppy meat and I'm going to mix a table spoon of it and a touch of milk with the softened puppy kibble that I got to see if that helps it to eat a bit more.

Did the dog get into some poison? Very sorry to hear about your loss, dogs are truly man's best friend.
He had no way to get at any poison as he was chaind up on his runner in his normal spot. He was stricktly an outside dog and was allways there.
My nieghbor brought up about possibly a copperhead getting to him. We do have plenty of those around but they have not been a problem right near the house. I saw no blood or anything that looked like trama but did not look so close to be able to notice something like a snake bite.
A friend here had a little dog just got done giving it a bath, put her down and went to the shop for a minute came back and the dog was dead. Didn't see any bite but did find a snake the next day up by the house.
he thought it was a copper head but we dont see many here may have been a cotton mouth that got his dog.
