Taurus PT709 Slim-range report

Bought a new one Wednesday and finally got to the range, this gun reminds me of the Ruger LCP, it's light, but solid and it feels good in my hand. It does have a tight action and this makes it a little stiff to release the slide(an extended slide release would be nice). The safety would also be hard to use as a lefty in a defensive situation. The trigger safety would probably be the way to carry, since the trigger pull is so long.
I fired about 100 rounds half FMJ and half JHP and compared it to the EAA witness 9mm, a much larger heavier gun. The Taurus had more muzzle flip, but not as bad as I expected. The grips made it easy to control the gun and get back on target. It sounded louder too. I was also impressed with the accuracy out to 15 yards it grouped in the kill zone. I paid about 380 total with tax and figure this is a nice little 9mm concealed carry firearm.
