So today I went to a local gunstore. I want to buy a Yugo AK underfolder. They have one, I look it over, tell the clerk I'll take it, and fill out the forms. I go to the front to pay for the rifle, all excited about my new purchase. Hand over my bank debit card, and...
"Sorry, this card has been denied".
Seems the funds I transferred into my checking account didn't quite clear before I tried to purchase the rifle. I checked my account online before going to the store and my "available balance" was well over the amount of what the gun costs. But, apparently this was not the case when i tried to use the card.
Sooooo... the moral of this story is - if you are a Fifth/Third Bank customer, do not believe what your "available balance" says. Only trust your actual balance.

I'd say a bummer, but I usually take things like this as a sign that a certain purchase wasn't meant to happen. Maybe you just need to look for another deal?
Heh, I thought the same thing. But, I couldn't resist it, so I put it on layaway. I'll pick it up tommorow when I know for sure what my account balance is.
