Here in Utah a guy was filming snow fall, when all these wrecks started happening in front of his house

Many years ago here in Eugene we had a real bad freezing rain. Had a parts to go to that was on top of one hill. When I turned onto that road Saw a snowplow/sand truck in front of me. Felt pretty good about that Knew I would make it to the party. Well I had to hit reverse and get out of there as that truck slid right back at me.

I got away but a few cars parked on the side of the road did not.

So much for All Season Tires.
Years back, Firestone had a sales slogan: You Go In The Snow or We Pay The Tow. Their snow tires worked very well and with studs,even better.
The public is being snowed with today's all season tires.

PS it was not the Snow it was the Ice below it. That Video is from Last year. also the road did not show it but it was in a valley and cars on both ends going down hill could not stop.

Their had to be "black ice" under the snow.
Noway just a dusting of snow and a slight grade caused all that.

this was yesterday, it was raing for about 8 hr, and about 2pm it turned to snow, very very very wet

I did that once in an M-60 main battle tank. I actually made it to the bottom of the hill without hitting anything, just left some minor damage to the street and curbs. I shifted it into reverse while sliding forward and had the tracks smoking by the time I made it to the bottom of the hill.

Living in ohio i never had a driving in winter accident. My sister used to live in georgia and she said when they had a freak ice or snow storm the people there did not know how to drive in it and they had tons of accidents

Here in Montana we slow down to 65 MPH and have someone else hold the beer [:p] ... and if we have to ran into something we try not to hit the snow plow. [}:)]

I live an hour south of were this video was taken. We had quite a bit of rain and then it became cold enough to freeze. Then the snow fell.
