Stainless carbine

Who makes a bolt action carbine, simular to the Ruger stainless compact, but in something a lot hotter than a 260. Am considering a TC Icon [30TC] & having the 24 in bbl cut down to 20in or less. How badly would that screw up the balistics? Thanks guys, Dave camoguy@ecenet.com
