What can I do to better deal with pain and discomfort

    With mine stretching helps. Also i start out slow and as the day goes by i feal better. The more i make myself do the better i feal. Good luck. I also go to a chiropracter. Good Luck

    Stuff called Tramadol. Works great. I dont take it often as I should. Also, I do lift weights at the gym. The stuff that pressures my back I do a little at a time, it has built my back up some.

    well I guess I can tell you
    first Ive got severe pain, daily, my was caused by a fall, broke back that they told me was a brusied spine, because it was not fixed now I have big probloms.
    ruptured disks, DDD, DFD, spinal arthritis.
    mine is lower back. I have just gone thru another operation to remove ruptured disk, replace the leads running down my back.
    replace the DCS implant.
    my dad uses that 8 hour heat pads, they work good for him.
